Reflective blog for chapters 7-11

In the beginning of chapter seven it automatically tells you that the war ended in may
then we find out that CAB is condemned to death. That part of the book made me want to read fast so i could find out if he dies. When they bring in CAB Ursula and Amaranta watch him go to jail in a crowed of people this reminded me of when Jesus was being crucified and his mother and Mary were watching him being hurt and taken to the cross.
Jose Arcadio saves his brother Colonel Aureliano Buendia just before he is about to get shot. i think that is what put his life at risk when he had gotten shot.
The fact that the blood of JA went all the way to Ursula was odd, it was personification because blood can't "climb" up curbs. His blood went back to his family which may symbolize that you he was returning home for the last time. I was so sad when JA died because i liked him even though he ran away and made people sad, he married Rebeca which opened up a door for Amaranta to marry Pietro.
When they take JA's body they wash it three times but still smell the gun powder. the number 3 is used a lot throught this novel and i always think of 3 as when it took jesus 3 days to rise from the dead. It took them 3 times to cleanse JA but he was still covered with a stentch of gun powder. that may represent how his sin is to heavy to wash or maybe that the pain of the burden is still lingering throughout the house.
Gerineldo Marquez like Amaranta and i think that is kind of gross because he just seems so much older than her. you can tell she begins to develop feelings for him but then she breaks his heart. i think she has a lot of pain inside of her and she is to afraid of relationships to be in one, because she rejects everyone. Maybe because she is the only girl in the family she needs some attention.

When JAB died i was thinking that if the founder f Macondo dies than it is the beginning of a new season. It is probably a worse season because all the old things are done with. Like he never believed in written documents and now CAB is signing all sorts of papers and contracts.

There were so many rumors that CAB had died and he has come so close to death so many times. Maybe because he wants to die he doesn't, if his sadness is living than ofcourse he will live
this book is sad like that because you get what you don't want people are at the most part miserable.

That is disgusting how Aureliano Jose does stuff with Amaranta, because thats his aunty and it's incest.
After Aureliano Jose dies the women he loves has no future according to the card readings i guess that states that AJ was her future and with him her life had disappeared.

I used to like CAB until he attacks Macondo that made me so mad. and he makes people stand 10 feet away from him , even his mother.
CAB changed. there is a huge theme of change in this book. (JAB,JA,CAB, all change)

They always bring up mud. the smell of mud. i wonder what it symbolizes, dirtyness, unclean, the taking away of their innocence?

there is another motif of persecution. a lot of the characters in this story are killed or concemned to death.

There is so many relationships in the novel that are ended with death. I would rather be single than have to go through seeing my husband or love die. In every section of chapters i have read someone dies that has had a loved one. i realized that after reading my blogs and seeing that i say this everytime .

LOVE IS DEAD,

Marquez tells CAB that he should watch out for his heart because he is rotting alive.
i think that could symbolize somthing that relates to the whole town. that Macondo is rotting alive. because of the war the town is getting worse.
CAB wakes up calling for a blanket i guess that could state that he is insecure.
CAB becomes a stranger in his own home which is sad the war and life had changed him.
He begins to forget things and that is a theme of the lack of knowledge

Ursula can tell that things are happening again just like in the beginning and she is frightened that everything will repeat. They are destined to relive life and repeat the past.

Aureliano Segundo marries Fernanda but still has relations with Petra Cotes because it helps his animals grow. so i guess he is using her.
Petra cotes sounds like Pietro Crispy so i am still trying to find similarities between them

Fernanda didnt know anything about the war until Macondo i guess that shows the theme of ignorance. She begins to change everything and tries to run the house like it is of her ancestors
she kind of bugs me because she thinks she can just go and take down things. She doesn't even think of the Buendia's history of the house.

CAB's sons come and stay for 3 days...theres that number again.
they get a cross on their forhead and it doesn't come off. i guess that shows that they should always have a father even though their father wasn't always there for them.
The sons eventually build a railroad..which i think can only lead to disaster because so far all the new technologies have brought with them new disaster.
